Am Freitag, dem 28.
April 2006 um 9:00 Uhr c.t.
wird
einen Vortrag halten zum Thema:
Part I: The concept of a Lie group is introduced in an intuitive way,
and examples of such group are presented. The relation between a Lie
group and its generators.
Part II: Introduction to tensor algebra. Book keeping and induced
transformations.
Part III: Lie groups are applied to signal processing in general and in
particular for orientation estimation in image processing.
The concepts of invariance and equivariance are presented. The
equivariance equation. Phase.
Part IV: Solving the equivariance equation for some simple examples in
image processing.
Ich würde mich sehr freuen, Sie zu diesem Vortrag begrüßen
zu dürfen.

LIE GROUPS AND THEIR APPLICATION TO SIGNAL PROCESSING
Robert-Mayer-Str. 2-4 (ehemaliges Physik-Gebäude, 3. Stock rechts)
statt.
Abstract:
The presentation shows how Lie groups can be applied to signal
processing in general and in particular how mappings from signal to
feature descriptors can be derived as solutions to a particular equation
which describes the relation between transformations on the signal and
the corresponding transformations on the descriptors.
Examples from image processing and orientation estimation will be
presented.
