einen Vortrag halten zum Thema:
Software
Process Simulation: Why - What - How?
Software Process Simulation is
a tool that has shown some success in addressing issues of strategic
management, project management planning and control, technology adoption,
training and understanding. Some of the unique advantages over other types of
model formulations include:
(1) Ability to incorporate
relationships from multiple modelling paradigms.
(2) Ability to include
empirically observed distributions.
(3) Ability to capture rich
causality models.
(4) Freedom to
explore risks and changes in scenarios to support decision-making.
(5) Capturing of dynamic
system behavior.
The talk motivates the use of
current process simulation paradigms along with their advantages and
limitations. Examples of successful applications will be presented to
demonstrate the feasability and usefulness of one of the most popular
paradigms, i.e. System Dynamics modeling and simulation. The talk concludes
with a proposal of a new research direction that aims at using process
simulation for theory building in software engineering.
