Do you mind sending me informations about studying informatics at Frankfurt?
All informations (Studienordnung and Prüfungsordnung) can be downloaded from the home page of Informatik.

Where do I have to register for informatics and what are the deadlines?
All foreign students have to register at the Akademische Auslandsstelle. Please note that you have to show the conformity of your exams as precondition.

I already have studied computer science in my country. What kind of certificates are approved?
If you have passed an examination, your certificates may be approved by the Akademische Auslandsstelle.
The "Prüfungsamt" of the computer science department is responsible for the approval of all courses. In order to get such approvals, you have to
- get a detailed description of the contents of the course
- let it translate into German or English and certify this
- show this to the Prüfungsamt.
Please note that you also have to show the approval that your last examinations are at least equivalent to a general qualification for university entrance, i.e. a German "Abitur". -
I would like to get a master degree at your university. Is this possible?
There is no master degree program yet, but you might apply for a German diploma which is equivalent to a masters degree. Please note that in order to study computer science you have to show that your last examinations are at least equivalent to a qualification for university entrance, i.e. a German "Abitur".

I would like to do a PhD thesis at your university. Is this possible?

What kind of research or job opportunities do you have at your department?
Please refer to the common European job and research offers web site.

I do not speak German. Does this impede my study?
Yes, although all literature in computer science is in English, up to now nearly all lectures and courses are given in German language.
