- Address of the Organizing Chairman
Dear Colleague,
Like the previous conference in Paris in 1994 the meeting will focus on
recent developments in labeling proteins and nucleic acids with 13C-,
15N- and/or 2H and the use of multidimensional heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy
for studying the structure and dynamics of these labeled biomolecules.
The Organizing Committee invites you to participate in the meeting.
We are convinced that this meeting will promote interaction between
scientists from different disciplines. Hoping that you can come to
Frankfurt we look forward to a stimulating conference.
Heinz Rüterjans
Chairman of the Organizing Committee
S. J. Glaser H. Rüterjans
C. Griesinger J.M. Schmidt

The meeting will be devoted to the application of stable isotopes
in multidimensional NMR spectroscopy of biomolecules. The programme
will consist of invited lectures and poster sessions. In addition,
authors of selected poster contributions will be invited to give oral
presentations. The following colleagues have already accepted our
invitation to present a lecture:

Posters
Participants are invited to present posters concerning their
scientific work. The preferred format is A0, i.e. approx.
120 cm x 90 cm (height x width). Poster abstracts should be
prepared according to instructions given below. The abstracts
will be reviewed by the programme committee; authors selected
for oral poster presentations will be notified of the committee's
decision by 15 January 1996.
Abstracts
The abstract (including any figures) must not exceed one page.
Abstracts should be prepared camera-ready on white bond-paper,
typed single-spaced within an area of 10 cm x 16 cm (height x width)
using a 12-point Times font. The head of the abstract should be
centered with the title in capital letters followed by a single-line
space, then in mixed uppercase and lowercase letters the names of the
authors, another single-line space, and the addresses. The name of the
presenting author should be underlined. Please send your abstract
unfolded along with your registration to the organizing chairman at
the address given below.
Invited Lectures
Invited speakers should likewise prepare an abstract of their lecture.
Abstracts and registration forms cannot be accepted after 15 December 1995.
The conference will be held in the Biocenter of the University of Frankfurt,
Marie-Curie-Str.9,
D-60439 Frankfurt am Main. The scientific part will open on Sunday, 3
March, at 9.00 a.m.
and close on Tuesday, 5 March, in the evening.
The conference desk will be open on Saturday, 6 March, from
15.00 to 20.00 and throughout the meeting.
Within subway reach of the biocenter, a number of
hotel rooms in
different categories (approximate prices given) have been reserved
for participants. Please address the desired hotel directly to fix
your personal reservation, keyword: "Biozentrum". It is strongly
recommended to book before 31 December, 1995.
The Biocenter of Frankfurt University can be reached by subway.
Participants arriving at Frankfurt airport enter the S-train
(S 8, destination Hanau) to Frankfurt Hauptwache. Participants
arriving at Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (central station) can use any
S-train to Frankfurt City, Hauptwache. At the station Hauptwache
change to the subway U3 (one level more downstairs), destination
"Hohemark" or "Oberursel". Get off at the station Niederursel,
from which the biocenter can be reached by a 10-minutes walk
along the road Kreuzerhohl.
The one-way subway ticket from Frankfurt airport to Frankfurt
Niederursel (biocenter) costs DM 5,50 (category # 4 Einzelfahrt
at the RMV ticket machine), from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof to
Niederursel DM 2,70 (category # 3 Einzelfahrt). The ticket is
valid for both S-train and U-subway as well.
Participants arriving by car via Auobahn A5 go up to Frankfurt
Nordwestkreuz (on blue background), switch to the A66 and follow
Frankfurt Miquelallee (on blue background), viewing the TV tower
ahead. Participants arriving directly via A 66 also follow
Frankfurt Miquelallee. At the tower follow Nordweststadt
(on yellow background). Attention: do not exit at Nordweststadt,
but just at the following exit: Mertonviertel, Riedwiese, Universität.
The biocenter is located up-hill.
Participants are asked to return the completed registration form by
15 December 1995.
The registration fee amounts to 450 DM for active participants and
to 150 DM for students. The fee includes registration, abstract books,
lunch, and the conference dinner on monday. Applications for financial
assistance to junior scientists as well as students should be sent
together with the presentation abstract and a letter of recommendation
before 15 December, 1995.
Fees may be paid in one of the following manners:
- Bank transfer to Sparda-Bank Frankfurt (Main) e.G., (Bank ID Code 500 905 00)
Account no. 700 021 to the order of "NMR meeting - Prof. H. Rüterjans".
Please enclose a copy of the transfer order with your registration.
- Foreign draft in DM drawn on a German bank to the order "NMR meeting - Prof. H. Rüterjans".
Personal cheques cannot be accepted. In case of cancellation after 15
February 1996 the registration fee cannot be refunded.
